We Are Cyrus Virtual Town Hall: Iranian Americans Gathering July 2nd

There are moments in the life of a movement when you can feel it. A quiet before something begins. A gathering of breath before a song.

We are in one of those moments now.

For months, We Are Cyrus has been growing in living rooms, church halls, and community centers across the country. Iranian Americans in 24 states have raised their hands and said the same thing in different words: we are done sitting on the sidelines of the nation that gave us refuge. We came here for freedom. It is time we acted like it.

On Thursday, July 2nd, two days before America celebrates her independence, our Iranian American organization is opening its doors to the public for the first time in a free national virtual town hall.

A Virtual Event for the Iranian American Community and Beyond

This is not a fundraiser. It is not a rally. It is a family meeting, and everyone is invited to the table.

At this virtual gathering, you will hear directly from our founders about the vision behind We Are Cyrus: why this organization exists, what we believe about the place of Iranian Americans in American civic life, and where we are going together. Not polished talking points. The real story, told plainly.

You will meet the chapter leaders building Iranian American civic engagement state by state, from Texas to Georgia to California. These are ordinary people, parents and professionals and veterans and students, who decided that showing up matters. They deserve to be seen, and you deserve to know who is standing beside you.

And then we will do something simple and rare: we will listen. The evening will close with open questions and answers. Bring your doubts. Bring your hopes. Bring the questions you have been carrying about what it means to belong to two stories at once, the Persian one and the American one.

Why Iranian Americans Are Gathering Before Independence Day

Twenty-five hundred years ago, Cyrus the Great wrote freedom into the conscience of the world. He freed the captives, respected every faith, and proved that power and mercy could live in the same heart. That legacy of Cyrus the Great runs in our blood.

Two hundred and fifty years ago, a young nation declared that liberty was not a gift from kings but a birthright from God. That legacy now runs in our blood too.

We gather on July 2nd because Iranian Americans stand at the meeting place of those two inheritances. Many of us, or our parents, fled a regime that crushes the very freedoms Cyrus once championed. We did not come to America to watch it become what we escaped. We came to help keep her promise alive.
