On July 14-16, the We Are Cyrus team will travel to Washington, D.C., to meet directly with Members of Congress and their staff.
We are not going to protest.
We are not going to hold another rally.
We are going to do something far less common.
We are going to walk into the offices where American policy is shaped and personally deliver the voices of thousands of Americans who refuse to let the Iranian people be mistaken for the regime that oppresses them.
Every signature we collect becomes part of that message.
This is for every family forced to flee.
For every family grieving the loss of their loved ones by the hand of the Islamic regime.
For every political prisoner.
For every voice silenced.
For every child who deserves to inherit a free Iran instead of a dictatorship.
Why Another Petition?
It's a fair question.
The internet is full of petitions.
Most collect signatures.
Some generate headlines.
Very few create sustained action.
This petition is different because signing it is not the end of the campaign. It is the beginning.
Our team will personally place these signatures into the hands of elected officials while advocating for a Congressional Resolution recognizing the Iranian Democratic Movement and affirming that the Islamic Republic is not the legitimate representative of the Iranian people.
That matters.
Because recognition changes the conversation.
It tells the world that America's elected representatives distinguish between a regime and the nation it claims to govern. It affirms that support for the Iranian people is not support for the Islamic Republic. And it gives Congress an opportunity to formally acknowledge the democratic aspirations of millions of Iranians.
When we walk into those offices, we are not bringing opinions.
We are bringing citizens.
We are bringing families.
We are bringing a community.
We are not asking permission to exist.
We are insisting that our voices be heard.
Why Congress?
Because American foreign policy matters.
Congress influences sanctions, funding, human rights policy, diplomatic recognition, and America's long-term relationship with the Iranian people.
For too long, discussions about Iran have centered on the regime.
We believe it is time those conversations center on the people instead.
Every law, every resolution, and every policy begins because someone was willing to walk through the door and make the case.
That is exactly what we intend to do.
Why We're Building Two Coalitions
Because showing up matters.
Anyone can click "send." Few organizations take the time to walk through the doors of Congress and personally advocate for the people behind every signature.
But this is bigger than one delivery. This is coalition building.
We are bringing together freedom-loving Iranian Americans from 24 states who have never met each other but share the same conviction: the Islamic Republic does not speak for our people. For many of us, this is the first time our community has organized at this scale to walk into Congress as one voice instead of scattered individuals.
You are not signing a form. You are joining a movement that finally has your name on it.
And we are building something else at the same time. We are asking American officials, Republicans and Democrats alike, to stand beside the Iranian people who are fighting for liberty and peace. Not as a talking point. Not as a footnote in a broader policy discussion. As a solemn commitment.
Every name on this petition strengthens both coalitions. It tells fellow Iranian Americans they are not standing alone. And it tells Members of Congress that the people asking for this resolution are organized, serious, and growing.
Two coalitions, one mission. That is what we carry into Washington.
This Is Bigger Than One Trip
This petition is our first national action.
It demonstrates that ordinary citizens can organize, participate, and engage in the American political process together.
Whether you are Iranian American or simply believe that every nation deserves the opportunity to choose its own future, your signature helps demonstrate that support for the Iranian people is real, organized, and growing.
Movements are not built overnight.
They are built one conversation.
One volunteer.
One meeting.
One signature at a time.
Every signature is another brick in a foundation that future generations can build upon.
Why We Are Cyrus?
We Are Cyrus exists because we believe the Iranian-American community deserves a stronger, more organized voice in American civic life.
For too long, others have claimed to speak for us.
It is time we speak for ourselves.
Not through violence.
Not through division.
But through civic engagement, principled advocacy, and participation in the constitutional process that has made America a beacon of liberty.
This petition is only the first chapter.
Join Us
On July 14-16, we will carry these signatures into Congress.
Before we walk through those doors, we want your name with us.
Not because one signature changes history.
But because history is changed when ordinary people decide they will no longer remain spectators.
Here is what we can promise.
We will personally deliver every signature.
We will advocate for this resolution.
We will meet with Members of Congress and their staff.
We will represent every signer with integrity and determination.
The Islamic Republic has spent decades trying to convince the world that it speaks for Iran.
Together, we intend to prove otherwise.
